On Thanksgiving day, Lambda will hold a buffet-style gratitude dinner from 1pm to 4pm. We will have old movies in the front room, as well as “It’s a Wonderful Life” and football in the back room. If anyone has Thanksgiving, or “fall” decorations for the tables that would be great. Bring them this week and put them in the closet with the speakers by the big 12X12 in the front room.
The club will host staggered donations of food, which are welcome throughout the day. On the menu are turkeys, green-bean casserole, stuffing, desserts, salads, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and gravy and lots more.
Please drop a dish off if you can't stay on your way to your family's event! Donations are greatly appreciated!
Lambda holds its board meeting every month, on the first Sunday of the month, the same day as the birthday dinner. The meeting starts at 5 pm in the small meeting room. All are welcome to attend, so they can be informed about what is happening at the club.
Agendas will be posted here, so that members can be informed about what topics of discussion will be on the table at the meeting. Typically, Lambda members are allowed to address the board regarding concerns or questions they have about Lambda at the beginning of the meeting, although they are welcome to stay for the entire meeting, which usually runs until 7 pm.
Our new recovery dinner chairwoman, Barbara B., has given our monthly Recovery Dinner some added ideas, twists, and touches. From beautiful floating floral/candle centerpieces, to birthday balloons and decor, each touch adds special care, excitement and celebration to the event. A personal favorite touch that has been added was each celebrant receiving a flower with a hug before sharing. Some of the twists included an additional raffle which was included within the dinner price.
The number of attendees at our dinners has more than doubled. In November, 91 people celebrated recovery at the dinner/meeting. The rooms are full with dining, chat and fellowship. The meetings themselves are warm, and full of recovery sharing.
Dinner price $7.00 for Non-Members, $5.00 with member discount and free to Recovery Birthday Celebrants.
